BLITE LT: micro loose-tube fibre cables with reduced diameter
Jul 15, 2022Nexans launches BLITE LT: reduced in size micro-loose fibre optic cables for blowing into the world's smallest micro-ducts.
Micro-duct cables have been used since 15 years for FTTx deployments. This new generation of compact cables, containing standard 250µm fibres, is designed for fast installation using airblowing technology in Metro, Distribution and Access networks for FTTx applications.
Micro loose-tube design
BLITE LT cables are based on a micro loose-tube design around a central Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) strength member and protected by a low friction HDPE outer sheath. Installations using fibre cables with a micro loose-tube design represent more than 90% of today's demand in Europe.
